On Saturday 29th September 2018 GOPIO France Paris with the close collaboration of Fondation de La Maison de L’Inde, Embassy of India and Campus France celebrated the WELCOME DAY 2018 with the students from India coming to France for higher studies.
During the state visit to India in March 2018, Emmanuel Macron, President of France, clearly said that he wanted to double the number of Indian students coming to France:” If you choose France you gain access to Francophonie, you gain access to Europe”. France has rolled out the ambitious 2020 strategy targeted to welcome 10 000 students and academicians from India.
After BREXIT more and more Indian students are interested in coming to France because the tuition fee is comparatively less expensive. There are more options to study in English and the trend of classes taught in English keeps growing in France. Thus France’s position is in the 4th rank of most popular destinations, after the US, the UK and Australia.
Having this in view GOPIO France has scheduled this annual WELCOME DAY of Indian students in its programme agenda. This year again, it was a great success. All the students attending the function was offered a FREE cruise on the Seine River so as to discover the dazzling beauties of the city of Paris.
The President of GOPIO France, Vikas TALWAR and Secretary Rucha BAGUL welcomed the students at the function. Mr Ignaci ARULANANDU & Dr Vikash Kumar, Community Affairs, Education, Research & Technology, Embassy of India delivered the keynote speech
The WELCOME DAY 2018 was also an opportunity to provide the students with practical information about the different facilities and living in France. The panelists who most of them were previous residents of Maison de l’Inde are now working in top MMCs. They developed all the Practical information covering health care, insurances, accommodation, French language courses, student discounts, travel in Europe and to neighboring countries …etc and more.
